The
Rent-a-Fence Environmental Policy
Rent-a-Fence operates an integrated system of processes
covering environmental management, quality control, and
Health and Safety procedures to promote a healthy and safe
environment for both the community and stakeholders while
producing high quality products for hire.
Rent-a-Fence's Energy Strategy was formed to manage our
energy usage and efficiency of power usage which is continuously
monitored and assessed. We are constantly reviewing our
energy saving initiatives.We have converted several of
the company vehicles to run on LPG fuel.
Recycling Statement
Rent-a-Fence is committed to the reusing and recycling
of its waste products. Initially waste is kept to a minimum
and currently 90% of waste material is recycled.
All waste and utility usage is monitored, fencing is
re-used or re-cycled - using only around 5% of the energy
used in primary production - and can be recycled time
and again without loss of quality.
Redundant mobile phones are donated to charity for recycling.
Used printer cartridges are returned for renovation and
reuse.

Best use is made of all delivery opportunities with
co-ordinated and shared deliveries considered wherever
possible.
- Waste Management
Due to waste segregation measures, a reduction in landfill
waste by over 60% has been achieved and also a reduction
in paper waste. All metals are recycled, from fencing
steel which is re used to drinks cans. All wooden waste
from production is reused or recycled; most office paper
waste is reused or recycled. Almost all plastic waste
is recycled, from wrapping to milk cartons.

Environmental Policy
Our aim is to achieve customer satisfaction through
fulfilling our stakeholders' requirements. In all our activities,
we will continuously work towards reducing our impacts on
the environment and improvement of our products and services.
This policy will be communicated to all staff and reviewed
on a regular basis. The policy will be made available on
the company website.
Energy Policy
To implement the company's energy reduction objectives,
a proactive approach is to be coordinated across all departments.
The workplace is a major consumer of energy and has a
major role to play in energy efficiency. Rent-a-Fence
is committed to energy efficiency in line with monitoring
and reducing its costs, along with minimising its effect
on the environment. A series of measures have been introduced
to save energy - Saving energy protects the environment.
Responsible Material Purchasing Policy
Rent-a-Fence has a commitment to responsible
purchasing of materials and products. It is our aim to
source all materials from legal, credibly certified sources,
and to increase the percentage of recycled material in
the products we offer for hire. We recognise and acknowledge
timber assurance schemes as assessed and approved by Defra
and the Central Point of Expertise on Timber (CPET).
Raw Materials
Significant investment in machinery has led to
a reduction in waste in our set-up. Our main raw materials
are wood, steel (which can be re used and/or recycled)
and paint.
